Customizing your leather or denim jacket is one of the trends for this season. It gives your jacket a special, unique and personal touch. I love this trend and that’s why I customized my (faux) leather jacket. If you want to know how you can customize your jacket watch the video down below and follow the steps in this post.
Step 1: Choose a jacket to paint on. I chose a leather jacket I don’t wear that often. I thought this jacket could use an edgy touch!
Step 2: Buy the materials. It’s important that the paint stays in place and especially when you wear it outside. I bought a white acrylic marker. The paint will soak in the leather and stays in place. I also bought a white crayon to sketch with. It’s your choice if you want to sketch first or not.
Step 3: Sketch your design on the jacket. Like I said in step 2, this is your choice. You can also start with the paint marker right away.
Step 4: Use the paint marker and go over your sketch. It hasn’t to be perfect, I think it gives your jacket an edgy touch if it’s a little bit messy. But that’s all up to you! After you painted your design, let it dry for 2 hours.
Step 5: Add a second layer to make sure it’s really white and not sheer.
Step 6: Add some quotes (if you want to).
Step 7: Let the paint dry for 2 hours again and you’re done!
I hope you like this (my first) DIY Video and blog post. I had much fun making this for you. Let me know how your jacket turned out! Love to see it and share it with my followers.
